How do you Stay Safe online?

High School Pupils talk about Online Safety!

How do you stay Safe online?
Safe is a new programme of practical, activities to develop primary children’s skills, self-confidence and safety awareness when using social network sites.

Safe brings together the FREE social network for schools, Radiowaves, with leading safety organisations Childnet International and The I in Online and is Funded by Nominet Trust.

Combining a safe social network, downloadable materials and teacher resources, the programme will enable any primary school to easily deliver fun activities which develop their pupils’ digital literacy skills. By completing the programme pupils gain a Safe certificate as evidence of their learning.

Safe has two certificate levels aimed at pupils aged 7 to 11 years old. It was designed with Level 1 to be started at 7 and 8 and Level 2 for 9 to 11. The resources can be adapted to the ability of pupils but where possible Level 1 should be completed before beginning Level 2. The levels can also be completed back-to-back for the older pupils.

As a part of our ongoing research and development of Safe we interviewed a group of pupils in high school about the Online world.
