Yesterday I came back from Germany. I was on the students exchange in Böblingen. We lived with German families. It was really nice and I won’t forget it.
One day we were sightseeing Stuttgart. After we visited Klaus von Stauffenberg Museum we had some free time for shopping, eating etc. During our walk we could see a demonstration. We knew that coming closer was prohibited so we looked at this for a while and then went away.
That demonstration was, because city authorities wanted to replace the old train station with a new one to be built underground. The place is already chosen and it is under a big park. It is necessary to cut all trees out. That park is very significant for people who live in Stuttgart and for environmentalists. That park is bound up with Stuttgart’s history.
We heard that few days earlier there ware over hundred people injured. That had been riots after a group of protesters tried to stop cutting of 25 trees in a city park. That building site was designed for a new train station.
On Friday took place a conference on demonstration ( protests and police response). The German chancellor Angela Merkel said that men should avoid everything what lead to violence. Elections will decide the fate of the project in March next year.
